As our projects proceed, I will write in the log about how we're doing, and how the garden is doing. Status as of mid February 2005 is that we each have aquired a tennis elbow!
Here is the journal ! Feel free to comment or tag along! Also, you will find the bulk of pictures of the rock garden in the photo album.

Our cat, Shadow is an outdoor, Floridian cat. After 6 months on the mountains, she is now an indoor cat. Her first meeting with the white stuff that fell out of the sky was not a pleasant one! Also, she does not like the fact that the ground is not flat and sandy. "What is all that leafy stuff doing on the ground, and why can I see the top of the trees from the porch?"
This is a somewhat log on my gardening projects in Maggie Valley, NC. It will reflect the joys and frustrations of a Norwegian "viking" - stranded in the US in AD 1997, - trying to make things grow the way it "should be done". At the moment I'm working on a rock garden. Unfortunately I don't have a "before" picture - but here is one after I'd been working a couple of weeks.

Status so far; the Smokys are a lot more similar to Norwegian gardens then FL!. :)
So; what will grow... and WHERE will it grow. That's the question!
The photo section will vizualize our progress.
